My name is Chris and together with my wife, Mairi, we run Orraman Leather.

Alongside being a Scots-Gaelic language teacher, I grew up a traditional Folk musician, playing all over the country and embracing the incredible culture of Scotland.
When Covid halted musicians working worldwide, I had to find a new direction to follow, and so from a hobby to a fully-fledged business, leather-craft became my passion.
Orraman was born.

I wanted to create a business that encapsulates all my passions: hand-crafted heirloom-quality leather goods, Scottish culture and my family.

The two Scottish words we identify with are 'Orraman' and 'Clan.'.
'Orraman' is a Scots word for 'handyman' or 'Jack-of-all-Trades', whilst 'Clan' is the Scottish-Gaelic word for family.

All of our products are made 100% by hand, by me & my small team and, with her business degree, Mairi ensures everything runs smoothly.
